Strawberry Cream Cheese Tarts

Tart Base:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened


  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten


  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 24 fresh, ripe strawberries, halved
Tart Base Preparation:
In large bowl, combine the flour, butter, and 6 ounces of cream cheese. By hand, form the mixture into a large ball. roll out the dough on lightly floured board, and cut out 48 2 1/2" scalloped edge rounds. Place in lightly greased tart pans.

Filling Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In separate bowl, combine the sugar, remaining 6 ounces cream cheese, vanilla and egg until well blended. Fill the tart shells two-thirds full. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Cool. Lift the tart from pans. Place a small amount of sour cream on each tart and top with half a strawberry. Chill, and serve.
